#11. The Super-Powers of Blogging

Blogging has been a great way to express opinions about certain topics and discuss what a student wants to.  The self-generated topics are a great way to let the students create what they are to talk about and how to put it all together.  It provides them the mobility to create topics of which is easier for them to blog about.  It also provides myriad ways to approach a certain topic.

The topics that are chose for the students is somewhat harder to blog about but sometimes there might be a topic that the student can connect with and its easier.  Chosen topics are more class related so the student has an idea in mind prior to doing the blog.  The class related topics also helps with upcoming  assignments and essays.

Blogging has to be a serious assignment for students if they want to be rewarded with a good grade.  If a student is not motivated to blog about their topics, and dismiss it, it will take a turn on their grade in class and impact their GPA.  Blogging lets the reader, read the authors thoughts and helps organize and analyze their own thoughts.

Blogging can teach a student how to constantly use rhetoric and that can help the student in many cases of an essay, presentation or research paper.  Blogging helps the student come up with concepts that are important and shows the student how to discuss about it in a formal way.  It also helps the student with organization and the way a topic should be discussed.  With feedback from the instructor , the student can correct themselves and learn from that.

The concept of blogging is a great idea that can benefit the instructor and student.  Initially, blogging helps the instructor see where the student is at with their writing abilities.  That can help the instructor give revision on all their assignments and such.  Blogging helps the student speak their mind in a way to give the instructor helpful feedback from their teaching.

#10. Ancient Technology

Ever wondered how ancient civilizations set up perfect pyramids,  how they move boulders that weighs a few tons, or how they get underground cities right beneath us?  There has been a conspiracy flying around that these ancient human beings had extraordinary powers that was inherited by so called "aliens".  In this theory, aliens taught us some engineering practices that let us use "mind-power" to move boulders that weighs thousands of pounds, even new technology such as cranes can't carry!

Everyone has seen that Egypt had their people like slaves carrying bricks to build a huge pyramid.  How did these Egypt commanders get the pyramids so perfect and even?  How do they construct it without use of machine?  These building stones also weighs more than 2 tons and can range all the way up to 50 tons.  How is it possible that these humans carried that much weight and if they had some type of technology to carry it, it would be better than what we have today.

Underground cities has been debated about for years and now it can be seen that they are actually real.  The underground city of Derinkuyu is said to be approximately 18 stories and is located in Turkey.  How was the city built and dug out with no technology?  The ancient cave city is one of life's mysteries that will not be explained for years.  Was all this technology lost in today's society?

#9. Attempting to Debunk this "Pink Slime"

This viral image has surfaced the web countless times and it has been linked to the manufacturing of McDonald's products.  McDonald's is always taking a hit from "outside sources" trying to damage their reputation and destroy the organization.  Initially, McDonald's had researchers provide evidence that their food does not contain such "pink slime" and it is all a social media hoax.  McDonald's show they is actually real meat behind their chicken nuggets and the claims has been dismissed.

When the image first came in contact with McDonald's, it was their priority to debunk this mysterious   meat and that is exactly what they did.  Granted, McDonald's meat might have an eyeball or two or maybe some limbs that are mixed together for their meat but it is still meat.

This long standing fast food chain has been getting bashed on for decades and it is not stopping any time soon.  Even talking in moderation, McDonald's should not be eaten on a daily basis or even on a weekly basis either.  It is definitely unhealthy but it still uses real meat and social networking will use anything they can find to convince people otherwise.

#8. Bringing Manny Back from Ice Age?

We all know Manny from the "Ice Age" series is fictional; however, did you know they are planning on cloning a mammoth in the near future?  Yes, we can all see Manny, Sid and Diego interact soon as long as the wooly mammoth DNA does not get destroyed as they are inserting it in an elephant.

Founded in Siberia, the DNA is frozen now and researchers are experimenting with it.  The elephant and mammoth are closely related so research shows soon how we might just be able to see a fully cloned extinct animal which blows my mind.  If this goes through, think about the opportunities it opens up for generations ahead from us!  It sheds an undying light for what the future can hold, and expands the way things are seen.

It is still questioned if what these scientists are doing is wrong.  Americans argue that it is not right to bring back what was already dead and gone for thousands of years into today's life.  It should be concerning to us because what we are used to can change for the worse and it can be a destruction in the mist.  The wooly mammoths vital necessitates are hard to meet for them to live on their own.  Although, it would be nice to see what doors this new technology can open, is it appropriate for nature?

#7. What Society Calls "Food"

Being introduced to this agriculture by the documentary "Food Inc.", "Fresh" had the same ideas and concepts about industrialized farming versus organic farming.  Before seeing these type of documentaries, the majority of people could care less about how their food is made as long as it's tasty and well-presented.  American families today do not have the time to cook and clean for a meal so it's just much easier for families to go out and buy either processed foods or fast food meals.  I have not thought about where my food came from or how it was created before seeing these food documentaries.  It shows a whole different side of food, and it shows how we are constantly being lied to as consumers and how the producers only gain profit for our brief knowledge on food.

I believe the film did justice in showing us just how much farming has changed and how it is slowly making our food system an imitation.  There has been a rumor that has been passed around years ago, that "Kentucky Fried Chicken" changed their name to "KFC" because the government would not let "KFC" use the word chicken because it was genetically modified so it was not really considered a chicken anymore.  It seems far-fetched but no one really noticed because their face is covered in all that grease and people only seem to care about how long until they get their food instead of caring about where their food really comes from.

American families today should care about what they are feeding their children and should acknowledge how industrialized farming affects our community.  These same people that doesn't give it much attention are those that are lying in the hospital bed day in and day out and are visiting doctor offices constantly.

#6. The Undiscovered Part of Earth

 We all know how large our planet is and compared to outer space, it's very tiny.  Scientists can discover things in space millions of light years away but can't map out our very own ocean.  It is said that we only have explored about 5% of our oceans.  That leaves 95% undiscovered which is a huge chunk in our deep seas.  I can't come to the conclusion of why we can't find out more of the ocean, but yet we are in the vast space and time continuum uncovering the unknown.


Our seas has been deadly with it's 352 quintillion gallons of water and with only 1/20 of it being discovered (5% / 100%) it's hard to say what we have hidden in the ocean.  With all of the marine life discovered already, there is so much more that we can learn.  Species that have been unveiled or even species that have became knowingly extinct can be hidden under the gallons of water that is essential to it's life.  Marine- biology has covered a lot of our marine life but it's ridiculous how much more there is.


Comparing our discoveries from the ocean to space is one that is heavily disputed.  Many say that it's harder to find what's in the ocean because of the dangers the come along with it and for space, it's just the fact that you need money to go travel into the black sky.  We know much more of space compared to Earth and it goes to show how big Earth really is even if it's a tiny dot in the galaxy.

#5. To the Window, to the Wall-E

Seeing the whole community act as if they are being brainwashed into thinking that they are living life.  My genuine reaction to that clip was that, our society is coming close to what was shown in the clip.  Granted, it's not happening now but I believe that was a gentle warning to us that we are slowly turning into non functioning humans and have to have robots think for us and talk for us.  It's deep if you actually analyze the clip.  It shows the many faces of humans that are obese and aren't able to live without technology.  It digs deeper than that when that guy fell off the chair and couldn't pick himself up without a helping robotic hand.  This film does show us relevant commentary on what we are turning into but not necessarily on our present culture and society.


Humans are being blinded by big industries that profit off their well-being and health.  They are being so used to technology that if they don't have it in their life, it must be difficult to live.  Babies are being born to learn the company's logo and what it does for them.  These industries want to take over the world just for profit and power and wants for humans to rely on their technology to live for these industries.  They get nothing but money and you have been altered into thinking that you need them for your will of survival.

That lady actually saw how the real world was when her face to face call was cancelled.  She was shocked to see that it was her first time seeing behind the screen and it really change her facial expression.  She had not seen all of this before because all of the human race was programmed to bypass the background and just to focus on the screen in front of them.  In a way humans turn to their phone more than live life.  That's what I think Pixar had in mind to teach us.
